If you understand how to use a manual SLR camera, want to learn about NIGHT photography and how to handle low lighting conditions then this course is for you. You'll learn what equipment you need, how time of day affects your shots and what makes particular photos appealing to your viewer. The field trip will give beginners and experienced photographers the opportunity to be closely guided by a professional photographer. Bonita will provide assistance on an individual basis with camera settings, composition, moods, lighting creative expression and how to capture what your eye sees. This class will not cancel due to weather. All levels of photographers are welcomed. Registration is limited. A field trip is scheduled for Sunday, 8/6 with an individual critique of photographs to follow. A 48 Hour cancellation is required.

The Collagraph - Building boards and Monoprinting (the Intaglio method) - 211840

The Collagraph is a collaged board that is glued together, sealed and then printed. This gives you have the ability to print your idea many times, many different ways. This class will be 4 sessions, 3 hours each day and will be taught using matt board to make your collagraph plates that you will print from. Students will work at their own speed and individualized instruction with demonstrations will follow. A small recommended supply list will be sent to students before the first session. Supplies for this class are somewhat inexpensive. See the instructors website to view collagraph prints for a visual idea of what they are.

"Erath, Air, Fire and Water" - 243081

Learn the making of photo's that have emotional impact. This is a challenging and creative endeavor that will expand your way of expressing yourself. The images must represent the photographer's view through the lens and not the tools of Photoshop. Details and topic ideas will be given at the first meeting. All levels of photographers and all types of cameras are welcome. All students are invited to display their work in an exhibit in New York scheduled for June 2018 if desired.
Class meets 8/7 & 9/18 from 6:30-8:30P for meeting and critiquing at 48 Natoma. Photo shoots held on 8/12 & 9/10 from 10:00A-2:00P; location and time TBA (Field trips will be within 1-2hr of Sacramento)
