Learn how to make robots powered by JavaScript! These classes will introduce the students to the basics of JavaScript and electronic components from the resistors, LEDs to servo motors and sensors. The lessons are based on a new comic book series that will engage your child in learning not just the technology but other fun facts about the components and their function in today's devices. Join us for some fun learning and experimenting. No prior coding experience needed. At the end of the camp children will take home a complete Arduino kit with servo motors, sensors, and misc. components.

Lego Robotics: Animal World with new Bluetooth Lego Robotics - 210076

Dolphin, gorilla, fish, or a spider? The possibilities are endless with our Lego elements! This class features the new Lego Robotics technology built on the next generation science standards. WeDo 2.0 is the latest creation from Lego that uses Bluetooth technology to wirelessly connect your Lego creations to the software. Children will build motorized Lego models with this sophisticated technology and also understand how their animal robots communicate with the environment with a variety of sensors. Children will learn programming in an intuitive way, letting students bring their creations to life while sharpening computational thinking skills. Lego Stop Motion Animation: Minecraft - 210077

The LEGO Minecraft Camp will introduce students to the basic foundations of stop-motion animation through the use of LEGO construction and computer-based animation software. The camp's theme is based on Minecraft and will contain a unique themed setting for each of the five days of camp like castle, cave, and end worlds. Students will create storyboards, take photos, and animate their stories using the Frames 6 animation software. By the end of the camp, students will take home a workbook with resources on how to create their own animation projects, as well as a USB drive containing the video projects they created in the camp. DASH Presentation and Public Speaking Course - 210083

In our ever-more-connected lives, our kids want to know how to present themselves to the world. Over a five day period, students will gain confidence speaking in front of an audience, learn how to present their ideas clearly, and use new technologies to support them in the process. Students will learn how to gesture and project, how to write outlines and intros, and how to create templates and well-designed slides. By the end of the course, students will have a handbook full of tips, tricks, and lessons that they can use to keep improving independently. The learning process continues as long as they want! The staff are excited to see familiar faces and meet new ones, Summer CAVE will bring fun experiences and new friendships. In addition to days packed with games, outdoor activities and crafts, Summer CAVE includes a weekly field trip, a visit to the Folsom Aquatic Center, and a walking trip to local destinations. Weekly fees include one camp shirt per summer, field trip transportation and fees, and entrance fees for the Aquatic Center. Summer CAVE is open Monday - Friday 7am-6pm.

Field Trip: John's Incredible Pizza - please arrive no later than 10am and wear your camp shirt for the field trip.
