Peter Pan; Wicked New Adventure - 144480

Neverland is not prepared when the force that is the Wicked Witch comes for a visit! Having survived Dorothy’s water attack, the Wicked Witch brings down Dorothy’s house in Neverland before she can make it home. When Peter refuses to tell the Witch her whereabouts upon landing, her rage sends her into a spree that could take out the island forever. Peter, Tink and the Lost Boy’s must band together with their arch nemesis, Captain Hook as well as a few surprise guests (Glinda, Scarecrow, Tinman and Lion) to try to take out their new foe. Will they succeed or will the Wicked Witch bring about the demise of our favorite place to never grow up?
We welcome ALL into the class, regardless of experience! Cast members are taught acting, singing, dancing, and will present the musical at the end of the session. We emphasize that every child is talented, and deserves a chance in the spotlight. All children are given roles with lines. We feel that every child is a star, and treat each child with respect, and kindness. Children will gain self-confidence, self-esteem, public speaking ability, working in a supportive team environment, and wonderful friends that will last a lifetime.
Material Fees: $50 to be paid to the instructor the first day of class for cast tee shirt, script, song sheets, rehearsal cd, etc. All children will need dance shoes, binders and a pencil for class. Costumes are not included, but will be easy for cast members to provide.
Dress rehearsal: Friday, April 20th from 5-9pm
Shows: Saturday, April 21st at 1pm and 4pm
No class January 31st

The annual Council for Legendary Figures is anything but ordinary, when Jack Frost, in a jealous rage, plots to steal the coveted Golden Snow Globe that is presumed to be presented to Elsa. Famous characters such as Captain Hook, Rapunzel, Tinker Belle, Little Red, Donkey, Father Time (and countless others) travel from near and far to attend this yearly event. Will Jack Frost bring a chill to this Winter Extravaganza or will Rapunzel and her friends fight off the cold and warm the hearts of the judges?

The program is open to Boys and Girls in Grades 3, 4, 5.
Auditions: Wednesday Dec. 13th and Thursday Dec. 14th 2:40-5 pm
All Cast Members must be registered with Folsom Parks and Recreation before Auditions to participate. To register call the City of Folsom Parks & Recreation Department at (916) 461-6601 or visit the website http://webtrac.folsom.ca.us to register online. You may also pick up a registration form at the Empire Oaks front office and return it with your check at the auditions. The auditions are part of the process and will help us to cast your child in a role. We will teach them a song, a dance and give them a short scene to do at the auditions.
Program Length: December 13, 2017-April 20, 2018
Tuition $185 to be paid to Folsom Parks and Recreation
Material Fee: $35 to be paid to New Star by Dec. 20th (pays for the script, rehearsal cd, cast tee shirt)
Location: Empire Oaks Elementary School- Multi-purpose Room
Rehearsals will be every Wednesday and Thursday after school: 2:45-5 pm
First rehearsal/Parents Meeting: Wednesday Dec. 20th. Rehearsal will run from 2:45-4:30 this day and we will have a short Parent Meeting at 4:30 pm. Cast members will learn their roles and be given their scripts and cds to take home.
Dress rehearsal will be Wednesday April 18th and will run longer than regular rehearsals. Time to be announced at Parent Meeting.
Performances will be April 19th, 20th at 7 pm (plus 2 Mini-shows on Thursday April 19th for the school)
Participants will need to have black dance shoes, binders, pencils, water.

Learn how to make robots powered by JavaScript! These classes will introduce the students to the basics of JavaScript and electronic components from the resistors, LEDs to servo motors and sensors. The lessons are based on a new comic book series that will engage your child in learning not just the technology but other fun facts about the components and their function in today's devices. Join us for some fun learning and experimenting. No prior coding experience needed. At the end of the camp children will take home a complete Arduino kit with servo motors, sensors, and misc. components.

Lego Stop Motion Animation: Minecraft - 210077

The LEGO Minecraft Camp will introduce students to the basic foundations of stop-motion animation through the use of LEGO construction and computer-based animation software. The camp's theme is based on Minecraft and will contain a unique themed setting for each of the five days of camp like castle, cave, and end worlds. Students will create storyboards, take photos, and animate their stories using the Frames 6 animation software. By the end of the camp, students will take home a workbook with resources on how to create their own animation projects, as well as a USB drive containing the video projects they created in the camp.
